Canada Day Weekend

The weather this weekend was up and down a bit with Monday being the best day for sailing. Saturday and Sunday was variable with dark storm clouds looming on both days and gusts of wind up to 25kts. On Saturday there was a downpour, and Sunday it just threatened to rain. Sharon was down for a picnic on the boat on Sunday and with the threatening clouds and strong winds we elected to not go out and just take it easy on the docks. Monday however was a perfect day. Jamie and Sara came along with Sara's friend Trevor. This was Trevor's first sail and he seemed to enjoy it.

Hello Alan: nice blog I really liked it!
On the dutch Dufour forum I read about your wheelpilot installation on Victura.
What is your evaluation of the S1 wheelpilot now?
Do you use it under sail as well? in windy conditions?
I am planning to instaal an S1 wheelpilot on my Dufour 34P as well. Because this install is not straight forward, and even said to be impossible, I would very much appreciate if you could give me some information about how Rob Wagner succeeded to do it. For example : how did he cope with the inclined double-spoke wheel to fit the weeldrive? Where did he placed the motordrive so as not to interfere with steering cables? Any hints and warnings are welcome.

You can send a message to me via the dutch dufour forum (id Lucas) or at lucas.joannes@hotmail.com
Thanks very much in advance,
Luc.
